Thorough and almost identical to previous edition.

Thorough. Covers just about all contingencies of diagnoses. I have an older edition. They are almost identical. Boy do I hate it when I'm required to buy the recent edition of a text I already own. The publishers really take advantage of students who least can afford to shell out the $$.

Easy to read, great diagnostic view

In my ADN program the teachers compiled their own mini binder books to supply to the class. This would have been a great supplemental book for any level of nursing program (and I have been through them all- LPN, RN, RN-BSN, and now nurse practitioner grad school. I like the larger print, smaller book size, and great diagnostics. However, there are also many great apps that one could buy as a practicing nurse that contain up to date information, so this is worth the money if you do not want to spend a great deal of money every year on an app. Or if your like me, this book would be a great one to keep for your nursing school library.

About the Author
Kosha Anja Joubert is an international facilitator, trainer, manager and consultant. She has worked extensively in the fields of curriculum development, international collaboration and sustainable development. Kosha grew up in South Africa, and has subsequently lived in intentional communities and researched intercultural communication for the past 25 years. Currently, she lives with her family in Findhorn, Scotland, and serves as President of the Global Ecovillage Network (GEN-International). Kosha is a co-founder of Gaia Education, which develops trainings at the cutting-edge of sustainability, and is a co-author of the internationally applied curriculum of the Ecovillage Design Education. She is especially fascinated by the phenomenon of Collective Wisdom: how can we transform our teams, organisations and societies into systems of cooperation, creativity and innovation. She is currently working on the translation of her book, previously published in German: The Change Makers Guide to Collective Wisdom; Leila Dregger is a graduate agricultural engineer and long-time journalist. She has travelled through all continents to various communities and peace projects to learn about different lifestyle's and to write about them. Her main emphasis is on peace, ecology, community and women. she has worked for the press and radio for 25 years, and is a screenwriter and director for both stage and film. She was the editor of the magazine The female voice - politics of the heart. She was press officer of the house of democracy in Berlin, the ZEGG in Belzig and Tamera in Portugal, where she mainly lives today. Stunning, a must for hat enthusiasts

I bought this book for my wife, who makes hats. As is my nature, I did a bit of research as I wanted to be sure I got something special and high quality, as well as giving a sense of historical overview, something about hat-making itself and an inspiration for new designs. Well, this book covers all of this. I highly recommend this book, it is beautifully packaged and presented, a real treasure.

Wasim Ahmed, born in Bangladesh and now a citizen of Canada, is a veteran of the IT world. He came into close contact with computers in 1992 and never looked back. Wasim has much deeper knowledge and understanding of network, virtualization, big data storage, and network security. By profession, Wasim is the CEO of an IT support and cloud service provider company based in Calgary, Alberta. He serves many companies and organizations through his company on a daily basis. Wasim's strength comes from his experience that comes from learning and serving continually. Wasim strives to find the most effective solution at the most competitive price. He has built over 20 enterprise production virtual infrastructures using Proxmox and the Ceph storage system. Wasim is notoriously known not to simply accept a technology based on its description alone, but puts it through rigorous testing to check its validity. Any new technology that his company provides goes through months of continuous testing before it is accepted. Proxmox made the cut superbly. Great intro to Proxmox

Great overview of many of the technologies that make up Proxmox. Having used Proxmox for nearly 5 years now, there wasn't too much new in here for me, but it had everything in it that someone would need to pick it up and get moving.

I do wish it would go a bit more in-depth on things like OVS, but since those aren't Proxmox products and are merely integrated, I can see why they dont.

Looking forward to third edition.

I am a technical reviewer of this book and Wasim has done a superb job of guiding the reader through the advanced aspects of Proxmox virtualization with samples, diagrams, and explanations that will enhance the readers ability to work with and master all that Proxmox has to offer.

If your getting started with Proxmox and are ready to take the platform to it's next level in your environment this is a book that you will value on your shelf.

About the Author
Daniel Humm began his chef's training at 14 in his homeland of Switzerland. There, he earned a Michelin Star while in his first Executive chef position at Gasthaus zum Gupf in the Swiss Alps. In 2003 he moved to the United States to work at Campton Place, where he received many awards, including a nomination for Rising Star Chef by the James Beard Foundation. He has been Executive Chef of Eleven Madison Park since 2006.
Will Guidara is a graduate of the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University. He began his dining room training at Spago Beverly Hills and attended culinary school in the North of Spain. Prior to joining Eleven Madison Park, he served as the director of operations of the restaurants at The Museum of Modern Art. He became general manager of Eleven Madison Park in 2006.

BEST COOKBOOK I OWN!!!

I own hundreds of books, most from the worlds greatest restaurants. The French laundry, fat duck, el bulli, modernist cuisine, the square, le Bernadin, you name it. This is my all time favorite cookbook. It's beautiful, absolutely perfect t food. Beautiful presentations, chef Daniel is the best!!!

Vibrant and elegant

I honestly bought Eleven Madison Park purely for the photography although
the quality of the dish plating and the restaurant itself are in a class of it's own and must be mentioned.

The food styling of Chef Humm is truly a work of art and combined with the superb photography especially lighting of
Farncesco Tonelli makes this cook book beautiful and well worth the price. If you like great food photography with very clean elegant food styling (by Chef Humm) then this has to be a plus in your collection.

Well worth the price - even the kindle version.

First, the bad news: the kindle version is a freakin' mess.

However, the pictures are there (not well attached to the text, but they are there). The recipes are fantastic. I wish I had bought the hardcover book, but I have way too many cookbooks already!

I will be copying recipes from the kindle to paper or my OneNote for many years to come, I am sure. The instructions for breaking down a rabbit, for example, is worth the price of the book in itself.

About the Author
Dr Rosemarie Said Zahlan is a leading authority on the Gulf who has pioneered the development and understanding of the subject. She has written the first account of the Dubai Reform Movement (1970), the first comprehensive history of the United Arab Emirates, The Origins of the United Arab Emirates (1978) and the first history of Qatar, The Creation of Qatar (1969 and 1986), and a number of other works. Her forthcoming book, The Gulf States in the Twentieth Century: Isolation or Centre Stage?, will add considerably to our understanding of the history and politics of the Gulf States throughout the twentieth century.

A dry and uncritical introduction

Zahlan covers the history of the Gulf states with special emphasis on the history of the various monarchical families. Sadly, her attitude is unflinchingly fawning; she seems afraid to say one negative thing about these countries and their economic and political challenges. As well, the writing style is very dry and wooden. Her bias is symbolized by one of the maps showing the UAE as extending westward all the way to Dawhat as Salwa, at the southwest base of Qatar. This reflects absurdly ambitious territorial claims of the UAE at a time when the Saudis have claimed the coast in the vicinity of Khawr Duwayhin, southeast of Qatar. This map is emblematic of the book's flaws. A much better book despite its age (1980) is 'Arabia, the Gulf, & the West' by J.B. Kelly.

The Best Introduction Available

This is the best introduction available on the Gulf states, examining such critical themes as the British imperial legacy and the relationship between state, economy, and social classes. It certainly offers a non-Orientalist treatment and avoids the condescending and often bigoted discourse adopted by such colonial-minded writers as J.B. Kelly. The late Said-Zahlan had a full mastery of the British archives and extensive knowledge of the region. This is reflected in this valuable and concise introductory work.

Easy and neutral

I purchased this book for a graduate course on the Arab gulf states. It was used as an introductory book to read. I enjoined it because it was an easy read. However I was a little bit frustrated because I felt the author was trying too hard to remain objective on certain subjects like colonialism and rentierism, etc. This seemed to cause the author to gloss over certain subjects. Where rather than being objective she could have provided a bit more detail from one angle to help understand the region.
